My little stinker

Last night we took Riley out and about in his costume. I found this adorable Children’s Place skunk costume at a consignment sale at the beginning of the fall for $5!  Believe me it was worth $5 worth of entertainment for my husband and I . At first he hated it..

Fall 2011 040

I love this time of year. The air is cool, the leaves are falling and winter is on it’s way!  I had a cup of hot chocolate this morning and still have my slippers on! Decoration are up and the pumpkin has been picked out. I got out all of my soup recipes and I am trying to decide which we make first! Last weekend we took Riley to pick out a pumpkin. Of course to him everything round is a ball. We decided one a small one Smile Here are a few pictures from Carrigan Farms….

Riley and his hat

Share Button

This past Saturday my Mom and I got up super early to hit some yard sales. Going to yard sales is one of my FAVORITE things to do. I find it so hard to sleep on Friday nights because I am  excited about what I might find that next morning. So we got up before the sun, drug ourselves out of bed and with our coffee and map in hand we went to scout out treasures. We both got some great things! Mom’s top find was a brand new Cuisinart Coffee maker with a stainless steel carafe for ten bucks. And I scored some great finds for Riley, including a whole basket of socks for a dollar, a Thomas the Train pillow, Backyardigans (his favorite show!) bath toys, and who would have thought an adorable green frog hat. Now I bought the hat mainly for me. I was in love with it. But the thing is Riley NEVER wears a hat. He always gets annoyed with them and they end up on the ground, but there must be something special about this hat because ever since he laid eyes on it  he was worn it. It is now Wednesday and the kids has worn it non stop, even to bed! Everytime it falls off, when he gets up, or when I slip it off for a bath he taps his head and says ‘hat’, ‘hat’.. Here is a collection from the last few days..

Where have I been?

I know I have been completely non existent here in the blogging world this summer.. It wasn’t intentional. Our family has been extremely busy enjoying friends, famly, and the hot hot weather. We started the summer celebrating Riley’s birthday.. then we had a huge family reunion with relatives visiting from the West Coast. We had a mega Barbecque for July 4th.. My dad makes the best pork bbq ever! and well the rest of the month has been a blur..but I promised it’s been just as hectic.  Riley took his first steps last week and got his hair cut! Here are a few pictures from our summer….I haven’t done much shopping this summer. We have lived mostly off of our stockpile and it has been a huge blessing. I am getting back into the swing of things. The last picture is my trip from Harris Teeter yesterday.. saved over $70 and spent $4.02 Smile
